A true expression of Great Southern terroir, our Heathbank features fruit sourced from older and lower yielding vineyards in sub-regions of Frankland, Mount Barker and Denmark.
It is a powerful and elegant embodiement of these great wine regions, with deep crimson hues and aromas of brambly blackcurrant, cassis, chocolate moccha and spice.
The fruit was cold soaked for 7 days prior to fermentation to extract colour and flavour. 20% of the total volume was put straight to barrel where it remained on skins for 12 months. Aged in new and older French oak for 18 months, with a further 6 months aging in bottle prior to release. This wine showcases extraordinary texture and mouthfeel.
Drinking superbly now but will reward 10 years careful cellaring.
